July Blog Recap

03:00

It was a slow month on the blog since I took a week off to go on vacation with my family. It was my first time going to the seaside with my daughter, so I needed a lot of time for preparation before we went there. In short, I read a lot of books but I fell behind with my reviews and I was not as active as usual with the memes and other feature and promo posts on the blog. Here is what happened in July.

I reviewed only 4 books:

I enjoyed all the four books I reviewed, so no Best and Most Disappointing Read this month.

Bookish Memes:

Teaser Tuesday - I took some time off this meme, so I participated only one this month with Shield of Winter by Nalini Singh

Top Ten Tuesday:

Waiting on Wednesday:
Six of Hearts - L. H. Cosway
Sway - Kat Spears
Lay It Down - Cara McKenna

Promotional posts:
Release Day Blast for Six of Hearts by L. H. Cosway
Blog Tour for Between the Sheets by Molly O'Keefe - ongoing giveaway

I'll try to be more active and publish more review in August. I have some reviews to catch up on and I also have some more promo posts and giveaways planned for this month, so stay tuned. And enjoy the summer!

June Blog Recap

13:48

I'm in full summer mood now, which just means I'm getting lazy and slacking with my post. So, here is the June Blog Recap. It's a later than usual but you can still check it out in case you have missed something on the blog the past month.

Best read: I went on a reading marathon of Psy-changeling series by Nalini Singh and loved all the five final books in the series I read this month. Next best thing, in a completely different genre - romantic comedy - was Neanderthal Marries Human by Penny Reid (review to come on July 7) and Complicated Creatures by Alexi Lawless (a debut romantic suspense which was a pleasant surprise)

Biggest Disappointment: It was a good month for reading, no real disappointment this month.

Teaser Tuesday:
Fall From India Place (On Dublin Street #4) - Samantha Young
Release Day Launch for Neanderthal Marries Human by Penny Reid

I will be making some changes in the blog soon. I won't be posting new releases every month, instead I'll make a page with all the upcoming releases I'm eagerly expecting. I will be adding new titles as I come across them, so check the page often, if you want to keep track of all new books.

I'm also working on a Recommended Reads page where I will list all my favourite books. I'm still on organizing the list but I'll publish it soon and I will keep working on it in the meantime.

Best read: Snow-Kissed by Laura Florand (it is one of the best reads for me this year) and The Kraken King serial by Meljean Brook (I'll be reviewing the final two parts next week).

Biggest Disappointment: No real disappointment this month, but I expected more of Suddenly Last Summer by Sarah Morgan since I loved the first book in her O'Neil Brothers series

Teaser Tuesday Meme:
Snow-Kissed by Laura Florand

Waiting on Wednesday Meme:
Half a King (Shattered Sea #1) by Joe Abercrombie

Best read of the month - Visions of Heat, though most of the books I read this month were 4 or 5 star reads for me. Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series are really a treat to read, I'm already on book 6 and I'm enjoying them immensely.

Biggest disappointment - none, though I did expect more of Tall, Tatted and Tempting, it still was a pleasant read.

Top Ten Tuesday:
I did only only Top Ten Tuesday post his month - Top Ten Most Unique Books I've Read

Promotional posts: I participated in the Book Blitz for Love, in English by Karina Halle, and for Blind Love by M. S. Brannon (there is a giveaway of 1 ebook still open).

It was great month for me in terms of the books I read. They were mostly 4-star reads and even one 5-star read (Unravel by Calia Reid). My disappointment was Four Years Later by Monica Murphy which was a decent read but I had higher expectations since I really liked the first two books in the series (Drew and Fable's story).

I continued with Teaser Tuesday and Top Ten Tuesday (Top Ten Popular Authors I've Never Read and Top Ten Books On My Spring 2014 TBR List).

I also took part in some promotional events - Release Day Launch for Love Hacked by Penny Reid, Cover Reveal for Dirty Angels by Karina Halle, Excerpt for Twisted by Emma Chase, Book Blitz for Upside Down by Lia Riley, Blog Tour for Love Hacked by Penny Reid.

You still have time to enter the giveaway I'm having of 1 ebook copy of Twisted (Tangled #2) by Emma Chase. Just fill in the Rafflecopter HERE.

I'm thinking of starting a new feature - Spotlight Sunday -where I plan to present my favourite books/authors/series. I still haven't decided how to do it exactly and I don't know if I'll have the time to be consistent with it, so we'll see how it goes.

I started doing #ManCandyMonday on FB where I post pictures of hot guys representing the heroes of the books I'm currently reading or are just inspired by them.

Don't forget to check my account of Pinterest to see more book related pictures!

February

February Blog Recap

00:00

It is a short but busy month for me. I decided to do more promotional posts, mostly book blitzes and release day events. I'm still doing only blog tours for books by authors I have read before and liked.

I reviewed 9 books on the blog this month

I started a new section this month - mini reviews. These are shorter reviews, usually of novellas.

My best reads this month are two completely different books: Life in Outer Space by Melissa Keil - a geeky funny YA romance/coming-of-age story and At Peace by Kristen Ashley - hot and emotional second-chance romance

Biggest disappointment - Seeking Her by Cora Carmack - companion novella to Finding It and Drew and Fable Forever by Monica Murphy - another novella, this time it's a follow-up to the first two books in the series. It seems that these type of novellas generally don't work for me.

I continued with the Teaser Tuesday posts (45, 46, 47 and 48) and did 2 Top Ten Tuesday - Top Ten Books That Will Make You Cry and Top Ten Rewind - Top ten Books I Wish I could Read Again for the First Time

I did some promotional posts this month, as well - Blog Tour for Once in a Lifetime by Jill Shalvis, Book Blitz for Lifers by Jane Harvey-Berrick and a special Valentine's Day post - Spread Some Indie Love - where I spotlighted my favourite indie author - Penny Reid. I have some more promotional posts and giveaways planned for March, so stay tuned :)

I'm thinking of playing a bit with the blog design, so there might be some changes in appearance next month.
