Teaser Tuesday 1900:49
Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Here are the rules:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• Be careful not the include spoilers!
• Share the title & author so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.
I have modified them slightly for my Teasers. It will not be two sentences from a random page but two, usually more, sentences from the pages I have read so far that have struck me as most interesting, original or that I just happen to like a lot.
My teaser this week comes from a book which I got to read and review through a group on Goodreads. It is called Love in Darkness (Shattered Castles 2) by E. M. Tippetts. It is the sequel to Castles on the Sand which I reviewed on the blog last week (my review). Love in Darkness deals with the heavy subject of mental illness and the struggles to be 'normal' and fit in the society. It was an interesting read and even though it had some major weaknesses, I enjoyed it. Look for my review later this week.
"This is, hands down, the most painful experience I've ever had, and I've been stabbed twice and had my own mother scream in terror at the sight of me.
At least Madison isn't the sort to cry. She's tough as nails, despite her sweet demeanor. All she does is look me over as of I'm speaking Japanese and just staring hard enough will allow her to understand."
After two years apart, he returns to Pelican Bluffs and to the girl he never wanted to leave. Madison wants to give their love another chance, but Alex can't fight fate.
He is what he is.
Ruined. Crazy like his mother. And Madison deserves so much more. When his secrets spill out into their small town, Alex has a choice to make. Hide away in the darkness forever, or let love in.
