Teaser Tuesday 37

02:16

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Here are the rules:

• Grab your current read

• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• Be careful not the include spoilers!
• Share the title & author so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.

I have modified them slightly for my Teasers. It will not be two sentences from a random page but two, usually more, sentences from the pages I have read so far that have struck me as most interesting, original or that I just happen to like a lot.

My teaser this week comes from Before Jamaica Lane by Samantha Young. The book releases on Jan 7 and I just finished my ARC. It is a hot love story involving one insecure/shy librarian, one sinfully sexy movie/game reviewer and some lessons in seduction. I really liked it and would highly recommend it.

"You're that couple", he told me softly.
"What couple?" I snapped.
"That couple who are a couple even they're not being a couple."

Goodreads blurb

One simple lesson in seduction between two friends can turn into so much more…

Despite her outgoing demeanor, Olivia is painfully insecure around the opposite sex—usually, she can’t get up the nerve to approach guys she’s interested in. But moving to Edinburgh has given her a new start, and, after she develops a crush on a sexy postgrad, she decides it’s time to push past her fears and go after what she wants.

Nate Sawyer is a gorgeous player who never commits, but to his close friends, he’s as loyal as they come. So when Olivia turns to him with her relationship woes, he offers to instruct her in the art of flirting and to help her become more sexually confident.

The friendly education in seduction soon grows into an intense and hot romance. But then Nate’s past and commitment issues rear their ugly heads, and Olivia is left broken-hearted. When Nate realizes he’s made the biggest mistake of his life, he will have to work harder than he ever has before to entice his best friend into falling back in love with him—or he may lose her forever…

  8. Ha! I love those first three sentences of dialogue! You left a comment on Ann's Reading Corner, about the teaser from my memoir and I wanted to stop by and thank you for taking the time to do that, especially since you said you usually don't care for memoirs. Nice to meet you!
